Q: What Program Do You Use?A: I use PSE 7.0 with generic brushes and custom-downloaded fonts. Q: What Tools Do You Use?A: I have a WACOM Bamboo Fun Tablet that I got for my birthday about four years ago, with a tablet pen that has never been changed, so it's rubbed off at a slant. Q: What Is Your Shading Style?A: For digital, I shade in solid black pencil. I then change the transparency so I can see where I shaded over the lines and clean it up, then I change it to a better shadow-like transparency and use the blur tool on it in long, slow motions for even shadows. For traditional, I usually do my shading plain and simple with my pencil, but if by chance I'm using my Prismacolor colored pencils, I either find a darker shade of the color I'm using, or I use the Timber Grey pencil. Q: What Is Your Dream Job?A: My dream job would be a YA author/artist (maybe a book illustrator?) who just sits in a Dunkin Donuts all day with her laptop listening to Indie Rock. Q: What Do You Like To Draw The Most?A: Hmm.....that's a tough one. No matter what I draw, I always have that one-week streak when I can't draw anything from that category. I've excelled in the past few months on ponies, so I draw them even more than I did before. I also got some tips from my art teacher this year on portraits, so making up characters and drawing them is a really fun pastime of mine. I'm currently writing an actual book that I plan to finish sometime this summer, or this fall if I find some new-found plothole or find new inspiration to add more events and details to it. I also occasionally hang out with these select people I call my friends, which means obsessing over making a children's pop-up book on a zombie apocalypse, and wearing horse head masks to the local mall. |
